In a lot of homes, one person runs the budget alone

The other one finds out how things stand when the card gets declined. Tidypot is built for the two of you to run it together.

One of you keeps the spreadsheet

And the other has to ask before every big shop.

Money runs out before payday

A monthly total hides how much each week can actually take.

Christmas still catches you out

So do birthdays and the MOT, even though they come round every year.

Money talks end in a row

It’s hard to agree when you’re each working from different numbers.

Safe to spend

One number, worked out the same way on both your phones

Tidypot spreads your pay and bills across the weeks they cover. A £2,000 monthly salary counts as £461.54 a week, and £1,000 of monthly bills as £230.77.

Take off what you’re putting into pots and what you’ve spent since Monday, and the rest is yours to spend. The week closes on Sunday, so a bad Tuesday doesn’t spoil the whole month.

Share the household, keep your own money your own

You each have your own login. Mark every account and every spend as shared or personal: the bills, pots and weekly figure you share are visible to you both, and anything personal stays private unless you choose to show it.

Two adults per household, on one subscription.

Fair shares, worked out for you

Agree a split once: 50/50, in proportion to what you each take home, or your own numbers. Tidypot works out what each of you puts towards the shared bills and pots every week, and keeps a running balance when one of you pays for something shared.

No more spreadsheets to work out who owes whom.

Pots for the costs that come round every year

Set a target and a date for Christmas, birthdays, the car or the summer holiday. Tidypot works out what to put aside each week and takes it off your safe-to-spend figure, so the money is there when the bill arrives.

New households start with suggested pots for the UK family year.

Bills and pay days in one list

Add each bill once with its amount and due date, and both your pay days. You’ll see what’s leaving and what’s coming in before it happens, and a heads-up when a bill goes up.

A ten-minute check-in on Sunday

Sort the week’s shared spending, see how each pot is doing and agree next week’s figure together. Anything left over can top up a pot or roll into next week. If you miss a Sunday, nothing breaks: add what you spent when you’re ready and carry on.

Sunday 18 October

  • £14.20 left over moved to the Christmas pot

No bank login needed

Bills, pay and Child Benefit go in once and post themselves on the day they’re due. A spend takes about five seconds: type the amount and tap a place you use often. Anything that slips through gets caught on Sunday, when you check the figure against your joint account balance.

How sharing works

What your partner sees, and what they don’t

Most couples share the bills and keep some money to themselves. Tidypot is built for exactly that: you decide what’s shared, and anything marked personal stays with you.

What your partner sees

The weekly figure, shared bills and pay days, the pots, and anything either of you marks as shared.

What stays yours

Personal accounts and personal spending. You can also share a balance without showing what it was spent on.

What Tidypot keeps

Only what you add, stored in London. There’s no bank login involved, and you can delete your account from Settings at any time.

Common questions

Can my partner see everything?

No. You both see the weekly figure, the shared bills and pots, and anything marked as shared. Accounts and spending you mark as personal stay private, and you can share a balance without the detail behind it.

Do we need to connect our bank?

No, and there’s no bank login to hand over. Bills and pay post themselves on their due dates, a spend takes a few seconds to add, and the Sunday check-in compares your figure with your joint account balance so anything you forgot is caught.

Does my partner need to pay too?

No. One subscription covers both adults in the household.

How does Tidypot make money?

From subscriptions only. It doesn’t sell your data, show adverts or earn commission by pointing you towards financial products.

Where is our data kept?

On servers in London. Only the two adults in your household can see it.

What happens if we miss a week?

Nothing breaks. Add what you spent when you’re ready, and your next check-in picks up from there.

Can we use it on a computer?

Yes. Tidypot works in your browser at app.tidypot.com as well as on iPhone and Android, with the same household on every device.
